1965 K CODE MUSTANG FASTBACK 4-SPEED
THIS COMPLETELY RUST FREE MUSTANG THAT HAS THE ORIGINAL "BORN WITH" STAMPED DRIVE LINE, WHICH INCLUDES THE REBUILT HIPO 289 ENGINE, REBUILT CLOSE RATIO TRANSMISSION AND REBUILT 350 REAR END. THE CAR WAS ORIGINALLY DELIVERED TO THE PHOENIX AREA AND I BOUGHT IT YEARS AGO FROM PHOENIX. BECAUSE THIS CAR STAYED IN THE SOUTH WEST, MOST ALL PANELS AND FLOORS WERE ORIGINAL TO THIS MUSTANG BEFORE THE COMPLETE ROTISSERIE RESTORATION. JUST PAINTED ORIGINAL COLOR OF "POPPY RED" WITH BASE COAT/CLEAR COAT TWO STAGE PAINT. MOTOR WAS COMPLETELY REBUILT AND BALANCED. NEW RED LINE TIRES AND STEEL STYLE WHEELS AS STOCK. REAL NICE CAR, IN ORIGINAL COLORS. INTERIOR IS EXCELLENT IN NEW BLACK VINYL BUCKETS. THIS K CODE HAS JUST BEEN RESTORED WITH DISK BRAKES AND TIPS THROUGH THE REAR VALANCE. HiPo Differences and Specs
Engine – on this car all parts are numbers matching and date correct
271 HP – (which is more than a 351w!)
Crankshaft – denser metal and “hatchet” counterweight and unique gear special to the HiPo engine.
Harmonic Balancer – much thicker to help with balancing.
Main caps – thicker and beefier.
Connecting Rods – Stock HIPo rods that are stronger and thicker.
Pistons – originally came with aluminum flat top pistons but I upgraded to forged pistons.
Cam – HiPo Solid lifter camshaft .
Heads – were different design from standard 289 heads helping to achieve 271HP Valves and springs – heavier and thicker.
HiPo cast iron water pump built for higher RPMs.
HiPo fan and shroud to help in cooling.
Autolite 4100 manual choke carburetor.
Dual point HiPo Distributor.
Autolite alternator with larger pulley.
